Description
Briddlesford Guernsey Butter is made on the Isle of Wight (not Guernsey) at Briddlesford Farm with their Guernsey girls’ creamy milk. The family have been farming their herd since 1923, now turning their fabulous fatty milk into butter, cream and cheeses. You couldn’t find a better combination of ingredients for your scones. It has a lovely saltiness to it. Just like the old days.
Briddlesford Guernsey Butter was praised by James Martin as he explored the Island in 2019 on his Great British Adventure this butter is an all rounder. Excellent for making flaky pastry (trust us) and just luxurious on all sorts – crumpets, scones, toast and how about a good old fashioned malt loaf.
It’s colour comes from the beta-carotene, which is found in the plants and flowers they feed from. Guernsey milk is also valued for its nutritional content. It contains essential nutrients such as calcium, vitamin D, protein and various vitamins and minerals. Butter can be good for you? Hooray! Buy a few at a time, as this freezes really well. Cut it into cubes for your pastry or freeze in knobs!
The farm is situated in the North of the Island between Newport and Ryde and are open to visitors.
Try their Briddlesford Red cheese, as seen on Channel 5’S ‘Jewel of the South‘ or their Halloumi Style Cheese, Cheddar or their thick luscious double cream.
