Isle of Wight Soft Blue Cheese

£5.50

Isle of Wight Soft Blue Cheese is a multi award winning soft blue cheese, but it didn’t need awards for us to know it’s value. Eaten at room temperature (take it out of the fridge way before eating) it has a soft gooey texture, creamy and strong, but not acidic.

Our biggest selling cheese.

Description

Isle of Wight Soft Blue Cheese has been made at Queen Bower Dairy, nr Alverstone (known for it’s red squirrel population), since 2006 by a very small team of lovely people.

Only 4 cheeses are made at this farm IOW Blue, IOW Soft, Gallybagger and Mature Gallybagger (seasonal) making them all exceptional and worthy of all their awards.

Isle of Wight Blue Cheese is a naturally rinded soft blue veined cheese. It is pasteurised and sold between 3-5 weeks of age. It has an 8 week shelf life, but we get a delivery every week, so it will come to you as fresh as a daisy.

This is used in many recipes in restaurants on the Island. We like to make an Isle of Wight Blue Cheese and Walnut Gnocchi Bake.

Queen Bower is a hamlet under the Parish of Newchurch inland on the South East of the Island near Shanklin and Sandown.

We also sell other cheeses in our deli from around the world.
